ACHILL!!!!!!!

Well it has come and gone and the aftermath is still lingering Eye-wink
I speak of Achill of course! And boy what a trip it was! From the bus journey involving emergencies toilet stops before and after the official pit stops, Big thanks to Ciarán the bus driver! Also any Baywatch fans were in luck as Pamela Anderson joined the trip!!
After sorting the houses out when we got there, we joined the early arrivals in the pub for a few drinks and some Funny Bunny. The night ended sooner for one or two members and the rest partied on through the night.
Then Saturday came and a few OFBs and other members tackled the surf but due to unforeseen circumstances the freshers were brought to the lake for some flat water action and good times all around!

Welcome to DCU Canoe Club

Hi and welcome to DCU canoe club.

Our first club event of the year is our Wednesday sessions at Wild Water Kayak Club on the strawberry beds. It's on next Wednesday (surprisingly enough) 14th of October and will be followed by further such sessions on the 21st and 28th. We'll be meeting at the back of the hub at 1.30pm to get the bus down to our clubhouse!

Don't worry if you haven't paddled before, we welcome everyone, from complete beginners to advanced paddlers! Please come along irregardless of what category you fit into as it's a great opportunity to get to know everyone in the club. We'll all be going to the bar afterwords too, where most of the getting to know each other is done!

So what do you need?

-Warm gear (clothes you don't mind getting wet and dirty!) or any wetsuits or kayaking gear you have, including a change of clothes for afterwords.
-€3 for the bus
-A friend (if they haven't joined yet they can join on the day)
-And your wallet to go to the bar with us after!
We provide all the rest of the gear you'll need!

Let the Fun Begin!!!

Well summer is over and another year of study is to commence, but let us not forget that all work and no play makes John a dull boy or Gill a dull girl! So I hope that you all had an eventful summer of travel, kayaking and socializing! And to those like myself who just worked through the summer, treat yourself to something nice! Reap what you sow!
So I hope to see a good turn out of new and old faces joining DCU Canoe Club for the craic and good times! Regardless of your level of kayaking experience, from never having sat in a kayak to Olympic standard there's a warm welcome to one and all!

The fun and good times shall be in super quantities this year with fresher sessions commencing soon after Clubs and Socs day which is on 6/10/09 Be There! And River Runs beginning also!
Not to mention Achill, the big trip of the year! What happens in Achill stays in Achill!! Eye-wink
