Interested in kayaking and want to give it a go?! Did you miss the first fresher session? Well here's your second chance to give kayaking a go Cool We will be holding our second session on the Liffey on wednesday the 19th of October.
Meet at 2pm outside the hub(door nearest the sports centre!)

What you will need:
Normal swimming gear,
Old clothes/any wetsuits, rashvests,booties you might have.
old runners
etc

We provide everything else!(including boats, helmets etc)

More banter will be had and we will again be heading to the slipper for drinks after!!

The training & development unit are going to be holding a number of ladies only paddling trips, over the next year..
The first weekend is to be run in Cork on the 22nd & 23rd October. There will be a river trip and a surf kayak session organised for the Cork weekend. There will be surf kayaks to try out and coaching from Aisling Griffin and Muireann Lynch.

The river trip is planned for the Lee Fields which will be a nice mellow trip but finishing up
at the sluice where anyone can have a go at some freestyle. Munster Dive and Canoe have
organised a film night for Saturday evening.

All you need is to have ICU membership. Each weekend will cost €20.

Start: 16:00

It's on on Saturday at 4pm in Sport HQ, Park West. There'll be a referee's exam beforehand from 3pm for anyone that wants to test their knowledge with the new exam.

Hey guys, it's the first club trip of the semester and we're headed to the lovely Liffey! A perfect spot for all you wonderful freshers to build upon what you've learned/are learning at the freshers sessions!

Transport will be organised by the club, so throw an email (chrisophertreanor.33@gmail.com) my way if you're interested and let us know what gear you've got and we'll do our best to accommodate you!

The first ever, Waterways Ireland, Barrow Descent takes place this Saturday, and we are hoping that following the recent rain river levels will be perfect for the event. The race is 23KM lon (A little less than the Liffey!!) with 10 weirs and a few rapids along the way. There will be rescue on all the weirs. Race starts at 12 midday and entries close at 11AM. For those of you who'd like to make a weekend of it, we will be meeting for a race after party in Carrol's Bar, Thomastown later Saturday night.
